San Miguel Peak is a stunning rock mountain at Sisiman Bay in Sisiman, Mariveles, Bataan. And out of those four major house types, two of them can benefit from having a mountain in front of them, while the other two can benefit from having a mountain behind them. The Trayfoot Mountain trail cut through even more boulders, at one point passing between two large adjacent rocks and yielding more views of Massanutten Mountain and Rocks Mountain before re-entering the forest.
The headwaters of the various drainages like Fish Creek didn’t feature any nearby obvious springs called out on the topo maps either. Most prominent was the bulky mass of Trayfoot Mountain right across a low saddle. It is the second highest mountain peak in the world and is located in Pakistan.
The valley was occasionally visible through the forest, though sometimes the view was blocked by large sandstone outcrops that lined the trail. The line was heavy with guides awarded credentials by the International Federation of Mountain Guides Association (IFMGA) or Union International Des Associations De Guide De Montagne (UIAGM), the EU equivalent.
To learn more about what IMG can offer you go to the International Mountain Guides Link listed above. I skipped that detour to shorten the hike and cut back on the elevation gain; however, I have included in this post a description of a half-mile detour down the AT to a view of Bear Den and Scott Mountain.
Outdoor organizations like the Appalachian Mountain Club and the Sierra Club do their best to educate prospective hikers and climbers about the joys and potential dangers of mountain hiking and climbing, offering courses and guided trips year-round that emphasize proper dress, behavior, and safety.
